Under the leadership of Barbara Toback, Total Communications is a New York City-based sales rep group within the vibrant and ever-growing gift industry.

As an art major, Barbara developed her eye and flair for creativity, but sales has always been in her DNA. Her career in sales started in merchandising of women's and children’s apparel. In the gift industry, she has been a sales rep, a rep company co-owner and a card company owner.

 

Barbara also finds unique opportunities to unite products and sales and give back to the community. In 1985, she envisioned a way to unite manufacturers with a non-profit organization: a charitable organization she co-founded and helped grow into an international, multi-million-dollar organization. Formerly K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations) and now named Delivering Good, the organization connects retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to provide people impacted by poverty and tragedy with new merchandise, effectively distributed through a network of agency partners to offer hope, dignity and self-esteem to at-risk children, families and individuals.

Her home and heart are in New York City. When she’s not calling on customers, she can often be found checking out new retailers throughout the entire NYC metro area and in Greenwich Village, where she and her family have lived for over 30 years.

There is no magic formula for selling in New York City. It’s a dynamic market that is always undergoing change. A top-tier sales rep needs creativity, organization, networking, commitment, tenacity and a pulse of the marketplace.
